SiriusXM to Air Live Broadcast Coverage of U.S. Open Golf Championship
Listeners nationwide will have access to ESPN’s live hole-by-hole coverage from The Olympic Club in San Francisco
Daily golf talk and expert analysis airs on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio
NEW YORK – June 13, 2012 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) will offer live hole-by-hole coverage of the 112th U.S. Open Golf Championship, running Thursday, June 14, through Sunday, June 17, at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.
Live play-by-play, provided by ESPN Radio, will air Thursday and Friday (1:00 - 8:00 pm ET) on SiriusXM channel 85 and Saturday and Sunday (4:00 - 10:00 pm/conclusion ET) on SiriusXM channel 84.
The U.S. Open Championship is returning to The Olympic Club for the fifth time. This year’s field will include World #1 Luke Donald, defending U.S. Open Champion Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, 2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson, Lee Westwood and many more of the world’s best, plus dozens of non-PGA TOUR card carrying players who earn open spots in the tournament by competing in local and sectional qualifiers.
In addition to the live tournament coverage available on channel 85, SiriusXM will offer daily golf talk, news and analysis throughout U.S. Open week on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, channel 93 on XM and channel 208 on Sirius Premier (formerly known as “The Best of XM”).
Leading into the play-by-play, SiriusXM’s Matt Adams and Brian Katrek will host the U.S. Open Preview Show live from The Olympic Club (Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm ET; Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm ET). Immediately after the conclusion of each day’s play, Katrek will host an hour long U.S. Open Review, giving listeners a full recap of the day’s events.
Additionally, SiriusXM’s daily lineup of shows will offer listeners the latest news, engaging interviews and expert analysis. Weekdays from 7:00 to 9:00 am ET, Matt Adams hosts Fairways of Life, followed by Teed Off with Brian Katrek from 9:00 to 11:00 am ET. Former PGA TOUR pro John Maginnes will host his regular show, Maginnes on Tap, on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm ET. Maginnes will also fill in for Katrek on Teed Off on Thursday and Friday.
